The Organ

All Saints houses an impressive four-manual organ by Hill, Norman & Beard, which continues to play an important part in the life of the church and the town.
Originally built by William Hill & Sons in 1879, the organ was comprehensively rebuilt in 1925–26 as a four-manual instrument with sixty-four speaking stops and over 3,300 pipes. It has been played by many distinguished recitalists over the years, and remains central to worship and musical life at All Saints. The organ was further rebuilt in 1982, and in recent years the Solo section — silent for over thirty years — has been reinstated.
